Chris our Kitchen fitter worked cleanly, professionally and carried out all works to a very high standard. If it wasn’t 100% right, it wasn’t going in … his attention to detail was second to none and we were really impressed. How refreshing it was to find a tradesman that truly cared about the customer and quality of finish he was providing.
Jo managed all the ‘trades’ for us, so the job was seamless, and all of them from Martin the builder to Brien electrician were all excellent. What stood out for us is the way the whole team worked together and provided regular updates to us.

Right from the initial consultation you understood the important aspects of our kitchen life and designed a kitchen that allowed us to have the big family gatherings but also met our day to day needs. The parts of the design that I queried or was unsure about you adjusted or allayed my concerns and all of it has worked wonderfully. John and I both have different favourite parts of the kitchen but all of it works so well.
Having a new kitchen installed is never a painless experience but throughout we were kept up to speed with the progress and time frames. All the team worked together and nothing was too much trouble, coming up with solutions rather than problems to any little snag that occurred. Between the team they have a wealth of experience and this is evident in the quality of their workmanship.
The quality of the kitchen units and appliances installed have been of a high standard so with the excellent service and installation provided by the Roman Kitchen team we feel it has been real value for money. I know this kitchen will provide joy and be part of many family memories in the future.

When my partner and I decided to have our kitchen and utility room refitted we had a reasonable idea of how we wanted it to be laid out and the style we were looking for. Joanne at Roman Kitchens helped us to refine our ideas and pointed out, with clear knowledge and experience of other designs she had worked on, what would work and what would not. Having computer generated graphics was a major help in being able to visualise what the finished kitchen would look like – and it is just like the graphics illustrated it would be!
Joanne also assisted us in choosing our new appliances. I see that our oven is used in the Great British Bake-off but I doubt it will really help me produce better cakes, though.
Throughout the project Joanne kept us informed; the breakdown and refit was completed within 3 weeks, bar some minor snags (you have to expect some snags), which have been thoroughly resolved promptly and efficiently. The disruption to our household was kept to a minimum and the standard of work is high.
Our kitchen is now complete and dressed and we are thrilled with it.
We would certainly recommend Roman Kitchens for their quality, design and professionalism.

Shortly after moving to Rayleigh I went round to a friend’s house and she had a beautiful kitchen. It was from Roman Kitchens. I walked past the shop every day when I took my kids to school. It was 20 years later before we did some “minor” work to our house to have our dream family kitchen and Roman Kitchens was one of many companies that quoted for it.
The extension itself did not go according to plan by any means. And to say it was a stressful experience would be putt…ing it mildly. I was studying for post grad exams and on top of that we had personal tragedy in the family which meant me travelling 600 miles every other week.
Joanne and the rest of the staff at Roman Kitchens could not have been more helpful, supportive and patient with me. She was one of a few contractors involved in our build that I trusted to do exactly what they said they would do. But she did more than that. I cannot tell you how much support and reassurance she gave me and how many times she got the samples out for me to decide wall colours, floorings etc. She was spot on with her advice and I trusted her judgement implicitly.
We have an amazing family space and a beautiful kitchen and I would most definitely recommend her and the company.

What a relief when we met with Joanne, after being recommended by our neighbours. She really listened to what we wanted, worked with the space and came up with a design, that with only a few minor tweaks was what we wanted. The fitter and trades she used were great, all done on time and in budget. We have had our kitchen over a year and I still walk in and smile at how good it looks and how easy it is to work in. Having spent some time trawling round Essex for a new kitchen and having had a stack of quotes, we came across Rotpunkt kitchens in another shop. That didn’t work out so we found another supplier in Roman Kitchens.
From the minute we walked into the shop we were impressed by the whole professionalism and overall attitude of the outfit. Nothing was too much effort and there was no hard sell. The kitchen quality was well above average and the quote was very competitive.

It is six months on since Roman Kitchens completed the installation of our kitchen and we could not be happier. From start to finish we have been thrilled at the care and attention we have received from the Roman Kitchens team.
We believe the success of our project began at the planning stage. Joanne took great care to understand our needs and the limitations of the available space. From this analysis she suggested several possible solutions going far beyond the ideas we had come up with. Indeed her suggestion of removing a partition wall to make a family room was inspired.
Joanne spent hours at this planning stage and her 3D visual presentations really helped us ‘vision’ the finished product.
All proposals were fully costed throughout and any changes were ‘priced in’ immediately. We did not expect, nor did we want, a cheap kitchen, but were surprised how affordable things were. So much so that we took advantage of Joanne’s price matching policy to source all appliances from her.
Due to the nature of the project we needed extensive works beyond the fitting of the fitting of the kitchen.
We took advantage of Joanne’s contact list to get quotes from trades people she recommended. However I felt it prudent to obtain comparative quotes from elsewhere and as pleasantly surprised to find how competitive the Roman Kitchen’s team were.
It was our bad luck that during the completion of the project we suffered the worst spring weather imaginable (the beast from the east). To make things worse we caught the flu! We will be forever grateful to the Roman Kitchens team for their support and attention during this challenging time. All their attention given at the design stage bore fruit, as the trades worked tirelessly and independently to achieve our vison.
We feel the quality and accuracy of work at this stage did much to facilitate the work of the kitchen fitter and to the success of the project.
As installation progressed we were more and more pleased with the quality of the ‘Roc Punkt’ product, often it was the small things that impressed. All the things you don’t see, fittings, connectors, etc. were superb.
Completion was exactly to time, remarkable given the weather conditions and the difficulties getting around and we were most pleased with the excellence of the finished product. More so as time has passed, the project, cabinets and appliances have far excelled our expectations and we could not be happier.
I would unreservedly recommend Roman Kitchens. I would strongly advise taking time to get things right at the planning stage. Listen to Joanne, she knows her stuff. All things being equal I would recommend using trades people as suggested, so much so that I am using these contacts for future projects.
We have recently completed a large home renovation project which included the construction of a full width rear extension and the full replacement and redesign of our kitchen in its entirety. We engaged with Joanne at Roman Kitchens early on in the process having received positive recommendations about this long established local business. We found Joanne to be very positive and excited about working with us on this project and upon visiting us she provided some fantastic insight and experience of the art of the possible within our space.
After measuring up the space, Joanne from Roman went about creating some designs and invited us back to the showroom for a consultation. We were very impressed with Joanne’s practical knowledge and industry experience and she was able to suggest a variety of innovations and ideas that otherwise we would not have considered. We worked with Joanne over a number of months to finalise our kitchen design and plan and despite our constantly changing requirements and ideas, Joanne did not complain but instead helped to shape our thinking, so we could get to a design which was perfect in meeting our needs.
Joanne at Roman provided us with sample doors, work surfaces and specific product information relating to appliances and all this was done without fuss. This was particularly useful as we were able to take sample doors and finishes into other stores to select tiles and other furnishings.
Joanne at Roman recommended electricians, builders, plasterers and even flooring teams who work in conjunction with her business and to be fair all of them worked as a solid team to deliver a remarkable kitchen finish.
The installation process which arguably can be the most stressful period of the entire project was managed with minimal fuss and as the home owners we did not feel any stress or burden whatsoever. The whole Roman installation team were brilliant, the old kitchen was removed simply, the new kitchen was constructed and the finished product is nothing short of amazing. We found the craftsmanship was superb and the kitchen has a showroom perfect finish, the Roman kitchens fitter (Dean) was a true master craftsman and it is evident he knows the trade intimately.
On a couple of occasions we encountered some unforeseen challenges in the build process. These are the sorts of moments where you really test a company when you are spending a vast some on big ticket purchases like Kitchens, and I am pleased to say Roman Kitchens delivered 100%. On these few occasions, they confidentely assessed the challenge and came up with best practice solutions before we could even start to think about panicking. When you have a busy job and other things to focus on this is a priceless element of the overall service. George from Roman has over 40 years experience in this industry and he worked with our fitter and delivered seamless solutions to complex problems.
We are totally satisfied with our new kitchen and are so pleased we chose Roman for this purchase. We bought new furniture, new appliances and accessories and everything that Joanne at Roman recommended works perfectly, just as she said it would. Upon embarking on the selection of a kitchen company, we visited most of the local firms and assessed them on there relative merits. Many others in the Essex and surrounding areas will talk about being one stop shop’s, being experts in the trade and talk about the various industry accreditations they hold – my advice is don’t believe the sales pitch – ask questions and test the claims. In summary, Roman Kitchens are a business that have been established in a small High Street position for 40 years, they have numerous satisfied clients (us being one of them) and I have no hesitation to give this business the highest recommendation.
